St Pancras and Islington cemetery

May 14, 2019

St Pancras and Islington cemetery is one of the largest cemetery in London. It opened in 1854, burials to date are about one million, much more than any London Cemetery.

I visited it on 15th May 2019, this area is so mysterious and incredible, loads of late 18th Century graves, sadly I couldn't read them all. Some trees roots, leaves, wildflowers and grass had covered them. It is in a peaceful setting with a large Ecology and Wildlife thriving within. There is also a pet cemetery here.

I walked through the woodland, that is a little unsafe and you need to be careful. I was taught about health and safety when I worked in Brompton Cemetery. Gravestones and statues can be dangerous as they can crumble and breakdown. A few unique statues look magnificent, I had not seen them before. I love this place and I definitley will visit it again.

Plumstead Cemetery

May 01, 2019

It was a long journey to get there, I got off at North Greenwich station and then got the bus there. I was surprised that Plumstead Cemetery is such a beautiful place. I could hear loads of birds singing very loudly and I felt like I was going way outside London. The graveyard is situated on a uphill and downhill site.

Plumstead Cemetery opened in 1890, it also has another cemetery near this site called Woolwich Cemetery, I haven't visited it yet, maybe next time.

I wanted to post some mixed photographs old and new, there is one photograph that has a ghost located on it, see if you can find which one it is.

Greenwich Cemetery

March 05, 2019

Greenwich Cemetery is a quiet and beautiful place, I felt like this cemetery is in the sky. It is not level and slopes like it were on a hill side. If you go there, you will be able to see isle of dogs, the shard, London eye, etc. I was impressed, I really like this cemetery.

They have two gothic chapels. The most gravestones are old and also there has been some new burials. Lots of birds are around there.

The photographs, I decided to keep colour because of vibrant colours of the sky and grass, I usually prefer black and white photographs.

Streatham Cemetery

February 26, 2019

I had never been here before, it seems very interesting because this cemetery is very flat and easy to walk around. Sadly, I saw lots of old gravestones that are damaged. I think they opened the burials in 1894? Lots of wildlife there and I also wanted to photograph inside the chapel, it wasn't opened.

July 25, 2018

I was the offiicial photographer meeting all dignitaries in Brompton Cemetery open day. I went there early in the morning. How lovely it was to met a guy who drove this hearse, we had a quick chat about the hearse, etc. He wanted me to make the photographs looks old. This hearse is called 'Henry Ford's first hearse' from 1909.

Victoria, Brompton Cemetery - The Royal Parks

June 02, 2018

Victoria has been volunteering in Brompton Cemetery for the last two years. As someone who is profoundly deaf, the experience has let her meet new people and feel a part of the local community.

Brookwood Cemetery

April 28, 2018

It is the largest cemetery in Surrey it was built in 1852. It is also one of the scariest and haunted places if you go to it alone, when the weather is raining, the best time to visit is Monday to Friday, not a lot of people visit it.

The Snow in Brompton Cemetery

These photographs look very old as if they were taken in Victorian times about 1840th to 1900th Century.
